Is there anything I can use in place of a bay leaf?!
Answers: I want to make a recipe that calls for a bay leaf. Is there anything else I can use instead?
Honestly, I've always thought bay leaves were overrated. Unless you're serving gourmands (and even they would barely care), you're fine to just omit it. If you like, sage might make a reasonable substitute. But definitely a small amount. Or rosemary, even.
There's not really a substitute for bay leaf. You can omit it & add a bit more of the other herbs or garlic instead.
do not bother ,you will not notice the difference.
A bay leaf merely adds a particular flavour to that recipe and is NOT an essential ingredient - so if you don't currently have bay leaves in your spice rack, then this time, leave it out. However, remember to add Bay leaves to your shopping list and try the recipe again at a later date WITH bay leaves.
Not that I am aware of.
Bay Leaf is wonderful, but not necessary.
don't worry about omitting it in your recipe. I'm assuming it's a soup or sauce of some sort?
