How do you cut a sweet potato?!

Question: How on earth do you cut a sweet potato? I was trying to cut wedges to make sweet potato fries and it wouldn't cut at all. It was too hard. I ended up breaking it in pieces and throwing it out...

You just need to have a very sharp knife. Sweet potatoes have a more fibrous composition than a "white" potato, and are therefore harder to cut. I use a cutting board and a sharp butcher's knife to cut mine. If you still have the pieces, rescue them, wash them well, and cook them. That's just the way sweet potatoes are.
with a really sharp knife
That's how you do it. Get a sharper knife.

I cube it and bake it for sweet potato enchiladas.

lol I have no problems cutting my sweet potatos with sharp chefs knives.

Just peel it first.
Boil it in water and then cut. Or drop in microwave for 10 minutes.
get a sharper knife no but seriously poke a few holes in it with a fork and put them in the microwave for about five minuites or so then they should cut nice
you have to make it soft first then u cut. so maybe cook it in hot water.
You cut the same way as you would if you where doing roast potatoes, put then in the oven with a little olive oil and salt and pepper, cook for about 40 mins on gas mark 5 turning then occasionally.
you pick up the knife and cut it
Have you tried to cut the sweet potato in halves length wised?
I cut them in half then cut in strips or I cut them in slices and put them in grill. They work for me. For best result, do not peel the skin.
