Can I mix cornstarch with mik to create and cook a dessert sauce? Would a milk/cornstarch slurry be appropriat!

Question: Yes, you can use that. Cornstarch should ALWAYS be mixed into a cold liquid. If your liquid is warm or hot it will make lumps that are very hard to get rid of. Just dissolve the cornstarch in a little bit of cold liquid before you mix it into the rest of the sauce.

That's the base for every pudding/custard recipe I've ever seen.
