Wheat flour substitute?!

Question: I'm cooking for someone who is allergic to wheat and soy, and the recipe calls for a tablespoon of flour to thicken the sauce. I tried the thing without the flour and it was a mess! Help?

corn starch thickens great! Just make sure to mix it with a bit of water before hand! Good luck!!!
corn starch thickens pretty well
Curvy_chick000 nailed it. Cornstarch will thicken it. It will have a glossy look that flour doesn't - if you don't mind that.

If they had been also allergic to corn, I would have recommended just about 1/8 tsp of Psyllium powder - don't want too much of that or it gets too gelatinous.
