Corned beef and mash potato with shortcrust pastry topping.
Not sure I'd wanna smoke that!
Mash a tin of corned beef. Top with beans/peas/cooked onions/whatever you like really. Top with mashed potato. Put in oven gas 6 for about 20 mins. Brown under grill. Serve. Eat. Delicious.
I literally just ate this for lunch in a Cambridge restaurant. It was totally delicious. Don't know the actual recipe but what came on the plate was diced, quite firm corned beef with no evidence of fat in a creamy, tangy sauce (Meuniere?) all mixed in with small new poatoes (boiled) and petit pois with two poached eggs on top! Fabuloso! £8.00. Can't be bad!
fry onions, add slides of uncooked potato and corned beef in layers, add tin of tomatoes, bay leaf, carrots if you want or other winter/root veg, cook for an hour or so in a hot oven.

You wouldnt eat corned beef if you knew what went in it!
I have a great recipe but I'm from the USA, sorry.
Fry an onion, boil some potatoes, open a tin of corn beefchop up the potatoes and beef, tip onto the onions, stir and fry. When it is crispy at the bottom turn it all over and fry some more. If you add in some cooked beetroot it becomes red flannel hash!
My mum makes it with chunks of corned beef, baked beans, and small squares of potato all cooked in one pan. You can add any flavourings, but the sauce will come form the baked beans. A little water will stop it becoming too thick. Then heat until the potatoes are cooked. SMALL pieces of potato, otherwise everything will turn to mush by the time they're cooked!
corned beef ,onions ,oxo cube, fry till hot in to a dish then top with mash and then sprinkle with cheese in oven till cheese melts and browns then serve

corned beef hash is one of those things that everyone seems to make differently.
i make mine by putting onion, potatoes, carrots, peas, mushrooms and corned beef(obviously)in a pan with some stock cubes (veg or beef) and water and some mixed herbs if i have any in, i sometimes add lentils as well. I bring to the boil and simmer till its thick and cooked through. i love it with some nice crusty bread to dip.
I have to ask - why UK only? Can't anyone else in the world have a good recipe? : /

Splash of Hendersons Relish or any other Worc's sauce type stuff

for corned beef hash you can not use canned corned beef --or you can but it will taste different than fresh...it should be the real thing...this recipe is in the proportions.
equal amounts of diced cooked potato & cooked corned beef w/ half as much sweet diced onion & diced green pepper. fry up some diced potato, onion & green pepper till browned in a bit of oil...add the diced corned beef. spice it up w/ black pepper & maybe chopped rosemary...stir well &.cook till it gets a brown crust or so, flip & do the other side...
you can sub canned sweet potato (unsweetended) for white potato...
after you do this once you'll see what proportions you like best for your taste....
