What are the alternatives for bacon and ham?!

Question: I am a former chef from Canada and have found for a nice flavour and less fat, to use a smoked turkey thigh or drumstick, the newer turkey bacons are nice, here in Canada we have one made with Chicken, they use the white and dark meats and speckle it to look like the real thing, I have had it and it is a good subsitiute.

When I make soups, collard greens or flavour beans for baked beans I find the smoked turkey parts give a nice smoky flavour and not the same fat or salt that a smoked pork product would.

I love soyrizo. Alternative to chorizo but still a breakfast food.
Alternatives for making them how?

In a recipe for something like beans in which they're used as a flavoring, you can use salt pork, or pork hocks.

Stand-alone at breakfast, pork chops or a small steak are a good alternative.
All I know is I like ham over bacon or turkey!!!!<ab>

Chicken, Turkey, Corned Beef sliced
Roast Beef, Salami.

I will depend upon what you are making.
