How do I make my own tacos?!
Answers: We don't have Taco Bell and the like in the UK, so how do you make your own at home?
fry up ground beef with some diced onion- together when it almost cooked through add salt, pepper and garlic powder and some ground cumin to your taste. stir it all up and cook through. fil taco shells with meat and top with cheddar cheese lettuce and tomatoes and taco sauce.
fry up 1 lb ground beef,
drain off fat.
put a package of taco seasoning in the pan with some water, bring to a boil and then turn down and let simmer until all the liquid is gone.
get the taco shells warm,put in 300degree oven for 5- 10min
chop up,jalapeno pepper,tomatoes,onions,and shred some cheddar cheese.
get out a tub of sour cream and salsa if you have it.
Layer the inside of the warm taco shell with warm meat, then salsa,sour cream,. jalapeno,onions,green pepper if you want it, lettuce cheese and tomato
Well generally brown some ground beef and then add seasonings to taste. The rest is up to you since some people like lettuce and tomato's and some people don't. Make sure you try different types of cheddar cheese as well.
for crunchy tacos, i buy taco shells in the supermarket
then prepare my minced beef (onion, garlic, tomato paste, chili powders, s&p)
chopped tomatoes, shredded lettuce, onions, and grated cheese!
it's the same for soft tacos only i add sour cream.
never liked the beans so i don't put on mine. if you like beans you just get canned refried beans or a can of beans & chili!

Taco shells
1 c. flour
1/2 c. yellow corn meal
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 1/2 c. cold water
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Beat until smooth. Batter will be thin. Spoon 3 tablespoons of batter on a moderately hot ungreased griddle to make a very thin 6 inch pancake. Turn when edges begin to look dry, but not brown. Fold shells in half and fasten with toothpick. Put 2 or 3 in skillet of hot oil. Cook on both sides for just a few seconds. Take out and drain on brown paper.
3 lb. roast meat
1 stick butter
2 1/2 c. water
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 c. broth
Salt and pepper meat. Place in baking pan, pour in water. Cover and place in oven at 350 degrees for 3 to 4 hours. Roast will fall apart. Place meat, butter, and 1 cup broth in electric skillet on 200 degrees. Add seasoning (chili powder, paprika, ground cumin, onion powder, garlic powder), and simmer for 20 minutes.
Fill the taco shells with cooked ground beef, chopped lettuce, diced tomatoes, some sour cream, maybe some chopped black olives....
18 medium taco shells
2 pounds lean ground beef
1 (14 ounce) bottle ketchup
1 (8 ounce) package shredded Cheddar cheese
1 large tomato, diced
1 cup iceberg lettuce, shredded
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Warm taco shells for 5 minutes on the center rack in the preheated oven.
In a medium skillet over medium high heat, brown the beef. Halfway through browning, pour in ketchup. Stir well and let simmer for 5 minutes.
Spoon the meat mixture into the warm taco shells and top with Cheddar cheese. Return the filled taco shells to the preheated oven and bake until cheese is melted. Top each taco with a little tomato and lettuce.

Taco Casserole
1 pound ground beef
1 cup salsa
1/2 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
2 teaspoons chili powder
2 cups crushed tortilla chips
1 cup shredded Colby cheese
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 medium tomato, chopped
2 cups shredded lettuce
DIRECTIONS
In a saucepan, brown ground beef; drain. Add salsa, mayonnaise and chili powder; mix well. In an ungreased 2-qt. baking dish, layer half of the meat mixture, chips and cheeses. Repeat layers. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until heated through. Just before serving, top with tomato and lettuce.
