I need a recipe for sugar cookies?!


Question: There is recipe I am thinking of called "Tuperware cookies" if anyone has that recipe, oh please share. They were the best and soft, a very simple recipe but I lost my copy.

TUPPERWARE SUGAR COOKIES

Cream together:
1/2 cup butter and 1 cup sugar

Blend in:
1 medium egg

Sift together and add to mixture:
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2 cups sifted flour

Blend into mixture:
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cut with Tupperware cookie cutters and bake on lightly greased cookie sheet in 400degree F preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes.

For extra sparkle and color, glaze your cookies using this simple recipe:
Blend together 3/4 cup sifted confectioner's sugar and 3-4 tsp. water. Follow package directions on food coloring to attain desired color.

While cookies are still warm, brush with glaze

This recipe appeared in a Tupperware? Booklet included in the past with cookie cutters. For best results, use Tupperware? products as indicated.

Classic Sugar Cookies
with Egg Yolk Paint

1 ? cups confectioner's sugar
1 cup butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
? tsp. almond extract
2 ? cups flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
Colored sprinkles and/or egg yolk paint (recipe follows)

Cream sugar and butter with a mixer until fluffy. Add egg and flavorings and mix well.

Sift dry ingredients together and stir into creamed mixture. Cover in a Tupperware bowl and refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours.

Preheat oven to 375o.

Divide dough in half. Roll out on surface lightly dusted with confectioner's sugar. Cut with cookie cutters and place on ungreased cookie sheets covered with a silicone baking sheet for easy removal. Bake for 7 to 8 minutes, until cookies begin turning a light brown at the edges. Cool, then decorate with egg yolk paint.

EGG YOLK PAINT

1 egg yolk, beaten
? tsp. water
Food coloring

Prepare one recipe of egg yolk paint for every 2 colors desired. Combine egg yolk and water and mix well. Divide into 2 small Tupperware containers, custard cups or paper cups. Stir in food coloring. Keep tightly covered until ready for use. If paint thickens, add a few drops of water. Paint as desired for a colored glaze, and add colored sprinkles.
