This Question is for the real "Italian Cooks" out there:Is Lasagna without noodles a real Italian Recipe?!
Answers: I disagreed with Buca di Beppo about this. There Lasagna was nothing but baked ricotta cheese with sauce on it. It was not good at all. I don't recommend eating there.
Garfield the cat told me, he wants it with noddles so
Lasagna is made with noodles, sauce, meat, ricotta cheese, and Mozzarella cheese on top.
If it doesn't have noodles it's not lasagna Garfield said.
I've never seen my grandmother make lasagna without noodles (pasta). Are you sure that's what you ordered?
EDIT: "Lasagne originated in the Emilia-Romagna region of north central Italy where authentic egg pasta was born. The wide flat sheets of pasta originally made by the Romans were called lasagne. Lasagne later came to refer to a dish cooked in a pot using long flat pasta sheets, layered with minced meat, cheese and tomatoes."

You mean pasta, don't you? Because I have no idea how you'd make lasagne WITH noodles, unless you put them between the sheets of pasta or something, which would just be strange.
And I've never heard of a recipe for lasagne of any variety without pasta.
You can make a pasta dish using all the ingredients generally used to make lasagna, but substitute another type of pasta, and you still won't have lasagna. That is because
the term, lasagna, refers to both a long, wide noodle and to the baked dish made with these noodles. The pasta is flat with either straight or curly edges. It is usually boiled, then layered with cheese, meat, and either a tomato-based or cream-based sauce. The casserole is then baked.
So you see, if you don't have lasagna noodles, you don't have lasagna.
Can you make spaghetti and meatballs without spaghetti? No. You can make macaroni and meatballs. You can make penne and meatballs. But to make spaghetti and meatballs, you are going to have use some spaghetti. Simple as that.
lasagna is something totally different without the pasta sheets. Perhaps a ragout (complete with that funny accent over u, it is a french word, yes, say no more...) but not lasagna. I wouldnt go again to eat somewhere where they forget to put the pasta in and try to fib you like this!!!!
lasagna is the noodle or pasta. to call a dish "lasagna" without the pasta is ridculous. Would they call a plain meat sauce with meatballs "spaghetti"? Don't order a cheese omelete or you might up with just a plate of cheese.
that's not true, however, real italian lasagna has the noodles and sauce and cheese all cooked together, but the meat is served on the side. we americanized it by putting it together.
