Is is possible to shallow fry potato gnocchi?!

Question: I just wondered if they would go nice and crispy? Some crunchy bites for the children to munch on.

Why not? As some have said above, it will add fat. (And that will probably make them taste really good.)
I am sure you could fry them, but why would you want to? get the kids to eat them without the added fats of frying
You'd need to make them very small to achieve what you want--crunchy bites. If they're regular-szied, I'm afraid you'd end up with crispy on the outside, doughy on the inside.

Definitely boil them.

But you could try toss them with a bit of olive oil and them broiling them after they're cooked to get them crispy?
Yes. They will get nice and chewy in the center, and crispy and golden on the outside. It's a great way to serve them. Fry over medium heat, covered, then flip and fry uncovered until both sides are golden.

You can serve with soy sauce if you want something a little different.
Why mess with perfection? Boil it.
