What's the fastest, yet safe way to thaw out precooked frozen shrimp?!

Question: Wife bought me some precooked and peeled shrimp. I always like cooking the raw shrimp, have fun peeling, but have to make do this time! I think just leaving them bowl overnight should be good. Or is it safe to place in water to thaw out fast, that way I can enjoy some tonight! Thank you for your answers!

The whole idea with thawing is to try to prevent as much bacteria from growing on the item you're thawing..
The best way is to let it sit in the refridgerator over nite.. However, if you really need to eat it right away (or within a few hours) before an overnite retreat in the fridge will suffice, then running it under water in a bowl is safe and do-able..
Just don't let it thaw on the counter top.. thats asking for trouble..

Keep in a bag and set in a bowl of ice water If you want it tonite. Don't let it sit out over night. If eating tomarrow just let it in the frig overnight.
yes its safe to put in cold water to thaw out. you way want to put them in a storage bag and place the bag in the water though.
place them in cool water for 5 minutes or so...i use pre-cooked shrimp too and they thaw really quickly in a bowl of cool tap water.
In the refrigerator over night.
I am from Maine and during shrimp season we would clean 100 lbs for oursleves to freeze, we didnt cook ahead just flat froze, they were fine just to add to recipes, but my favorite was to just throw in pan with butter by time butter melted and simmered a min or two they were done. I think that depending on what you are using them for if you just take out when neede you will do alright, moisture might be a problem, no need to unthaw that long they r so little and petite, unlike beef or poultry.
Good luck and enjoy, try them like mines with real cows butter mmm they r so succulent and sweet you would swear its a dessert(not really but just as addictive)
I usually put the prawn in warm water, stir for a few times and then squeeze it out and then mix the prawn with seafood sauce either for salad or for sandwich filling goes well with iceberg lettuce. enjoy. hope I'm helpful.
cold or luke-warm water will do the trick in about 15 minutes!
Thaw in water and eat into about 10 minutes.
you got a real thing about thawing food dont you Mitchie????
