How do you make sushi?!

Question: Smoked Salmon Sushi Roll:

Prep: 30 min. Cook: Ready In 5 hr. Serves 6

Ingredients
2 cups Japanese sushi rice
6 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
6 sheets nori (dry seaweed)
1 avocado - peeled, pitted and sliced
1 cucumber, peeled and sliced
8 ounces smoked salmon, cut into long strips
2 tablespoons wasabi paste
Cooking Instructions
Soak rice for 4 hours. Drain rice and cook in a rice cooker with 2 cups of water. Rice must be slightly dry as vinegar will be added later.

Immediately after rice is cooked, mix in 6 tablespoons rice vinegar to the hot rice. Spread rice on a plate until completely cool.

Place 1 sheet of seaweed on bamboo mat, press a thin layer of cool rice on the seaweed. Leave at least 1/2 inch top and bottom edge of the seaweed uncovered. This is for easier sealing later. Dot some wasabi on the rice. Arrange cucumber, avocado and smoked salmon to the rice. Position them about 1 inch away from the bottom edge of the seaweed.

Slightly wet the top edge of the seaweed. Roll from bottom to the top edge with the help of the bamboo mat tightly. Cut roll into 8 equal pieces and serve. Repeat for other rolls.

you make rice. sushi literally means "prepared rice"
Make rice , cut fish!
It depends on what kind of sushi you're planning to make. You'll need to prep some food before you start; cook sushi rice, make sushi rice seasonings (you can buy this at the store), buy nori (seaweed), and buy ingredients to put into the sushi. Here are two main types of sushis:

California rolls ~> Layer a sheet of nori on top of the bamboo mat. Spread rice onto the nori. Use a saran wrap and lay it on top of the rice, press down and flip the nori upside down. lay ingredients on top of the nori (close to you). Roll the sushi and cut into pieces.

Nigiri ~> Shape rice into long oval shapes. Add wasabi onto a slice of fish. Press the fish with the wasabi side onto the rice. Shape the sushi until it looks nice. If you're having trouble making the rice stick to the fish, use a piece of saran wrap. Put the saran wrap on your palm. Put the fish down first, then the rice. Pull the saran wrap to help you shape the sushi.

Good luck!
I am a Japanese, but I don't make sushi so often, ha ha ha!
I make "temaki" because it's easier than regular sushi rolls or "nigiri" (bite-sized sushi). When we have a home party, I prepare sushi-rice and fillings, then people enjoy making their own sushi rolls, and it's fun.
This is a link how to make, good luck ; http://blue_moon.typepad.com/blue_lotus/...
go to a sushi bar & watch carefully...
