How do i make pumkin pie from a home grown pumkin?!


Question: i want to make pumkin pie from scratch (not from a can). i am not sure what part of the pumkin to use or how to use it in a pie.

and then you just make your pumpkin pie like how you normally do..if not that recipe teaches you how to do it too..good luck
A couple of things I learned from my friend who made a home made pumpkin pie last year for Thanksgiving: make sure you have enough sweetener because it could come out very bland and dull. The main tip I learned though...make a Libby pie! Tastes better and took a lot less time! =)
First, if you didn't plant EATING pumpkins, don't use it. Carving pumpkins and eating pumpkins are 2 different things. If you have an eating pumpkin, you treat it like squash. Seed it, peel it, cut the flesh in chunks, and boil it. Drain it and mash it.
