Is mole a chocolate enchilada?!

Question: No. Mole is a sauce that contains chile and chocolate and ground peanuts and a zillion other things. Chicken mole is very tasty and a bit spicy.. I make it using a jarred sauce *Do?a Maria brand*

I boil a chicken, removing the skin afterward and just add the jar of mole sauce to the chicken broth in the pot, and simmer. It makes a thick sauce *gravy consistency*

..mmmm...tasty.

If you want to make it from scratch google 'chicken mole recipes'

Mole is a mexican sauce sometimes used on enchiladas. It does contain chocolate as an ingredient.

"About Mole Sauce: Mole or mole sauce is a dark brown Mexican sauce or gravy made from dry chiles, nuts, spices, vegetables, chocolate and seasonings. It takes a great deal of time to prepare and is served as chicken mole, in beef or pork for special occasions and holidays in Mexico. Mole Poblano, Mole verde, Pipian and Adobo are some other variations of mole."
Mole is delicious, but it is savory, not sweet-
Mole is a chocolate based sauce that would go on top of the enchilada.
no -- mole is not a chocolate enchilada.

mole is composed of various ground spices & high fat bitter chocolate to make a sauce. then you add beef, pork or chicken, etc....

I thought mole was made of black beans.

Here's what wikipedia had to say about it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mole_%28sau...
Well, mole (with an accent over the "e") itself is a Central American condiment, made primarily from ground pepitas (pumpkin seeds) and vegetable oil. It actually resembles peanut butter, in terms of preparation and consistency, although it is typically much thicker or "stiffer" than peanut butter.

It also contains any number of different herbs, seasonings (such as ground chili peppers) and flavorings. One common flavoring is unsweetened chocolate, which is what makes Brown Mole...well, brown. The chocolate adds a depth of flavor that the plain (green) mole lacks, and the resulting sauce works very well with meats such as chicken or pork.

I suppose a sweet chocolate sauce, to be used as a dessert topping or component, could be made in the same basic way as traditional mole. The herbs/spices and seasoning could be eliminated, and replaced with sweet flavorings. But the combination of ground pumpkin seeds and chocolate sounds like a great dessert idea!
No. Traditionaly the mole is a sauce made from chocolate (unsweetened) among many other ingredients (some contain pumpkin seeds, nuts, etc) along with different types of peppers. This sauce is usually paired with meat (chicken the most popular).
An enchilada is a rolled tortilla with filling (cheese, chicken (intex-mex versions) the tortilla is dipped or covered in sauce (tomato, hot sauce, etc)
Mole is a chocolate flavored sauce.
Mole is a sauce that can be used on enchiladas and other Mexican foods. Chocolate is one of the ingredients, but it doesn't taste "chocolatey" and is not sweet. It is good though.
Mole is a chocolate based Mexican sauce that contains, chili, nuts and other ingredients that give it a hearty tarty flavor instead of hot. It is great with chicken. So if you are making enchiladas with mole sauce (available at most stores already prepared) you would dip your corn tortilla in the sauce, stuff it with cheese or chicken, roll and place on a baking pan. Sprinkle with cheese and put in oven for cheese to melt. Add some chopped green/while onions, black olives on top when you get them out and maybe some guacamole and sour cream on the side.
What is all this talk about mole sauce wuddy hoppycock and nonsense I say!
