Is Coconut a good topping for Pumpkin Pie?!

Question: I have shredded coconut in a can. Should I toast it before I put it on the raw pie, or just put it on the pie and stick the pie in the oven? Or should I skip the coconut all together?

Thanks! ?

skip the coconut and use that for shrimp (coconut shrimp) use cool whip on pumpkin pie the only way to go!
i would say no coconut...doesn't sound good to me and i am not a picky eater.
If you like coconut (and I do) I would put it on the pie after toasting it very lightly. I've never tried it, though. Good luck!
Maybe fold it into your crust dough, would not throw flavor of pumpkin, and put a twist on crust, two separate flavors in one.
I love adding nuts to my top or a brown sug cinnamon topping to mine too when it is almost ready to come out of oven. I also sprinkle chco chips on it right after it comes out of oven (only for those at home, this dont go to outings, I dont want peopel to think I am non traditional lol
I like toasted coconut, but on Punkin pie, doesn't sound good to me.

Might wanna make a plate presentation of it around the pie?
yes if you like it that way there is no right or wrong , well except scrambled eggs w/ ketchup that wrong I like maple glazed pecans on my pumpkin pie
yield 1 pie
1/2 c dark br sug1/2 c lite maple syrup 3/4-1c of med chopped pecans 1/8 tsp nutmeg
put the ingredients together in a small pot bring to a lite boil remove from heat and set aside. jut about 10 mins before the pie is done, put the mixture on top of the pie and finish baking let cool and serve w/ whipp crm.
My Dad used to make a sweet potato custard with coconut in it (shredded) I don't eat coconut, but it was pretty good considering I don't like it. Try it. Either mixed or on top. But remember it will get sort of toasted so go easy if you toast it before hand. Good luck.....let me know if it was good or not.
skip, use cool whip
Yuck, get rid of the pumpkin and then you'll have something!!!
i don't know!! it's really up to you...you know why...caUse i dn't eat fruits and vegetables!!hahaha..
That sounds really good. Toast it before you put it on top of the pie. Sprinkle a little pumpin pie spice or nutmeg over top to be fancy.
I sound good. I would bake the pie and separately toast the coconut. Then i would use it as a topping and if someone is a picky eater they could just take it off.
