Spices and herbs like fresh garlic (lots of it), oregano, basil, black pepper. You should also use chopped onion when you brown the ground beef. If you like it spicy, crushed red pepper is good. You can never go wrong with a splash of red wine either. It'll give the sauce a more robust flavour. Salt will enhance anything (it makes spicy spicier and sweet sweeter).BTW, if you go a little overboard with the red pepper, just add sugar until it evens out.
You could add some italion spice mix, or get a better quailty sauce. I really like useing the bertolli sauce in the tomato and basil flavor. I think its tasty.
even if you are using a premade sauce... warm it in a pan.... add oregano, basil, garlic powder... of course salt and fresh pepper.... it will taste so much better.. also make sure when you cook the beef you season it.... will make it better when you add it to the sauce
Try making your own sauce. It's relatively inexpensive, and it's delicious. All you really need is onions, garlic, tomatoes, basil, parsley, maybe a little sugar. And you can add meat to it if you want. Simmer it all day.

Dried pasta is very bland, and I don't like eating it. Have you ever tried fresh pasta before? You can buy it fresh from an italian pastry shop. But you can also buy it in the grocery store. It's Buitonnies brand or something. In green packaging. It's not as good as the real fresh stuff, but it's much better than dry pasta.

Also are you salting your pasta cooking water? You can also add some of the starchy cooking water to your sauce to thicken it and help it stick to the pasta better.
Spaghetti is like bread in that it's pretty plain without the sauce / fillings or toppings. Try adding salt, pepper, and melted butter to your pasta. Add some finely grated parmesan cheese too if you like.
Spaghetti be seasoned with a sauce made by fry onion, celery, carrots, and a bit of minced meat .... add the tomato sauce ... add salt enough .... when the sauce has been withdrawn season pasta ...ciao e buon appetito
After boiling your spaghetti, drain it and stir-fry for about 1 minute with a dash of olive oil, minced garlic and a little chopped fresh olives. You can also add a teaspoon of butter. After stir-frying, put it on a plate and add on your sauce. Sprinkle some parmesan cheese and chilli flakes if you like.
Add Italian seasoning, garlic, Parmesan cheese, and a T.organic sugar to your plain tomato sauce. Simmer this very gently for a couple hours until it is nice and thick.
Make sure you salt the pasta water. I always add a little olive oil to the water too.
I've been cooking in restaurants for a very long time. Right now I'm working in a sicilian kitchen and have finally figured it out. It only takes a few ingredients amazingly.
--about a cup of good olive oil
--a lot of garlic, about 2 heads, peeled and sliced thinly
--good canned tomatoes (san marizano or any whole roma are great) about a quart/
--chili flakes
--salt a good, heavy pinch or 3

heat the oil, over med/high and add the garlic... cook it along with the chili flakes until it gets fragerant and starts to barely brown. Add the tomatoes and simmer with the salt for a few minutes That's essentially it just adjust the salt, chili, and garlic to your taste.

When you cook the spaghetti, use a good full handful of salt in the water .... as briny as the sea they say. you can run the pot under cold water for a few minutes, but don't strain then rinse, this rinses off the starch.

I also like to add a bit of butter as I reheat the sauce to toss with the spaghetti
French's spaghetti sauce mix added to any base is really delicious. garlic and roasted peppers, lots of italian seasonings are a must. if you find your sauce a little bitter, or sour, add small amounts of brown sugar to balance it out. also, many cooks (myself included) swear by adding cooking wine, or a good red wine while simmering the sauce.
try adding mushrooms. I prefer to take a clove of garlic and mince it up and fry it in a pan with just a couple teaspoons of olive oil and then toss the mushrooms in. Saute them for a couple minutes then add the entire pan of mush and garlic oil to your sauce and let simmer for a few minutes. Also try adding bay leaves, but allow them to simmer for 1-2 hours for best flavor
Dried Basil, Oregano, some garlic powder and a little dash of Worcester sauce can help- but go easy.
