How do I stop jelly from sticking to the jelly mold?!
Answers: I got a jelly mold from tesco which has the shape of 4 little pumpkins, but the jelly won't come out as a whole lump. I left it to set for ages and the jelly was a proper consistency, so how can I stop it from sticking to the mold because I want my jellies to look like pumpkins darn it!
Put very warm but not hot water in the sink. Place the mold in the warm water without the water getting to the jell-o and let set 3-5 minutes. Place a plate or platter over the mold tightly and flip. The jell-o should slip right out! (dry the mold before taking it off or you'll get water on the jell-o.)
Put them in a bowl of warm water for a couple of minutes (not too long), they should come out easy then.
dip it in a bowl of hot water
try dipping the moulds in hot water for a few seconds before turning out your jellies. this should work
Before you pour the jelly into the mould rinse out mould with some cold water, then pour jelly on, It works for me.
Coat the molds with a little oil first. If they still won't come out take the advice given and dip the bottom of the mold in warm water for a bit.
Spray a little Pam or any type of sprayable oil on the molds and you'll see how easily they will slide off!!! : )
Use a flavourless oil like groundnut oil in the molds, only a tiny bit though. It won't change the flavour/colour of the jelly and it will plop out with ease.
You could spray with Pam first, to coat the mould.
Or place the mould in warm water before releasing.
A quick dip of the underneath of the mould in very hot water should do the trick, but be careful you don't get any water in the jelly.
