Whats the difference?!

Question: What is the difference between garlic powder and garlic salt? My mom wants me to make bread sticks and it says to use garlic salt but we only had garlic powder so I just used the garlic powder. I was just curious what the difference is.

The difference is the SALT! Garlic salt actually gives you no control over the salt content, so your dish may come out too salty. If the recipe says garlic salt and you only have powder just add a little salt to the powder. You can also add dried parsley, chives, or onions for a bit more flavor.
garlic salt has the salt added to it, and the powder doesn't. Garlic powder is also a much stronger garlic flavor
garlic powders really strong and doesn't have to salt so no sour taste.
I second the two answers above...next time, you can simply add salt to your garlic powder, and if you have a mortar and pestle, grind them together ..... or maybe grind them gently with the back of a wooden mixing spoon or something similar ... although I don't think it really matters if you don't !!!
