Spread generous amount of coarse mustard, brown sugar, and a bit of honey. Broil ~5 mins, flip spread other side, broil another 5 minutes - done.

Serve with steamed or sauteed cabbage.
With the ham, I usually serve boiled parsley potatoes and sauteed cabbage. Report It

  • I've actually grilled one on indirect heat (*not over the coals/flames*) that was on the thick side and basted it with barbecue sauce. Surprisingly good result. ^_^
    Ingredients:
    1 Ham Steak
    1 cup Chopped Onion
    3 cups Apple Juice
    2 teaspoons Dijon Mustard
2 medium Green Apples -- cored and thinly sliced
2 medium Red Apples -- cored and thinly sliced
    2 tablespoons Cornstarch
    1/4 cup Cold Water
    1 tablespoon Minced Fresh Sage
    Or
    1 teaspoon Rubbed Sage
    1/4 teaspoon Pepper

    Directions:

In a large skillet coated with nonstick cooking spray, brown ham steak on both sides over medium heat; set aside and keep warm. In the same skillet, saute onion until tender. Stir in apple juice and mustard; bring to a boil.

Add apples. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 4 minutes or until apples are tender. Combine cornstarch and water until smooth; stir into apple juice mixture. Bring to a boil; boil and stir for 2 minutes. Stir in sage and pepper. Return ham steak to the skillet; heat through.
