We are having a pot luck at work for Halloween, what should I make?!

Question: I promised not to do a desert because there is always too many of them. I need a lunch or dinner dish that is Halloween themed, please sent any ideas. If its very uncommon, include the recipe , or let me know to email you.
Thanks

There's a good recipe for "deviled eggs" that look like little devils! See the photo and complete recipe at:

"Devilish Eggs"

Ingredients

(Makes 2 dozen)

12 large eggs
3 jarred roasted red peppers, finely chopped
1 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon coarse salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon hot sauce, such as Tabasco (optional)
1 small red bell pepper, cut into small triangles, for garnish
2 scallions, dark-green parts only, cut into small triangles, for garnish
Fresh chives, cut into 1/2-inch pieces, for garnish

Directions

Prepare an ice-water bath; set aside. Put eggs into a medium saucepan, and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Cover; let stand 12 minutes.Using a slotted spoon, transfer eggs to ice-water bath.

When eggs are cool, peel, and cut in half lengthwise. Carefully remove yolks, keeping whites intact and transferring whites and yolks to separate bowls. Refrigerate whites.

Add roasted peppers, mayonnaise, mustard, salt, pepper, paprika, cayenne, and hot sauce (if desired) to yolks. Mash with a fork until smooth. Cover, and refrigerate until stiff, about 30 minutes.

Mound yolk mixture in each egg-white half. Garnish with bell pepper, scallions, and chives to make devilish faces.
make something with pumpkin or squash.
very fall like.
I made lasagne last year for Halloween,
to make it more Halloween themed I used a cookie cutter to make think slices of cheese into shapes (ghosts, stars, whites) to put on top of the lasagne.
make pesto pasta:

shell pasta with pesto sauce added
kala olives
cherry tomatos cut in halfs and
parmaseam cheese
it can be served cold and it is simple an easy to make
make some very tender meatballs let them sit in the sauce and marinate for acouple of hours before you actually COOK them.
How about some sort of meatloaf in a scary shape or design.
You could make spaghetti with a meat sauce and let it simmer in a crock pot. To make it Halloween themed, you can put a cute little sign by it saying it's cemetery worms in blood sauce!
Good luck.
So you could make up a plate of a variety of meats and cheese and veggies, you could get green and orange toothpicks, napkins, choose green and orange veggies, this keeps it simple. Maybe use a fancy cutter to and cut the veggies in an interesting way. If you want a hot dish and have time, well you could make a stew or casserole to, depends on how much work you want to put into it really.
blood dripped preztzels: warm white chocolate on the stove and add red food coloring and dip and let dry on wax paper.
Here are a few ideas, all of which are done in a crockpot so they are easy to keep hot until time to serve them...

Halloween Brain Dip
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Ready In: 15 Minutes
Yields: 12 servings

"Cauliflower is hollowed out and filled with avocado dip to make a realistic brain that you will enjoy serving to guests! Perfect for Halloween parties."
INGREDIENTS:
2 avocados
1/2 cup prepared salsa 1 head cauliflower
6 thin slices red and blue fruit
leather

DIRECTIONS:
1. Slice the avocados in half. Remove the seeds and set aside. Scoop the avocado out of the skin into a bowl. Mash with a fork or whisk and stir in the salsa. Set aside. Slice off one side of each pit to make it flat and expose the cores of the pits. They will look like eyes.
2. Remove all of the leaves from the cauliflower and remove the stem, leaving a nice hollow area with the outer part of the head intact. Use toothpicks to hold it together if it starts to fall apart.
3. Place the cauliflower into a small bowl, so that the hollow is facing upwards and most of the cauliflower is up out of the bowl. The bowl is just for stability. Fill with the avocado dip and arrange the pits as eyes. Decorate the white ''brain'' by weaving thin strands of red and blue fruit leather between the florets to make veins and arteries. I wrap the bowl with cheesecloth and decorate with red food coloring to make it even more horrific!

If your not into the pot luck fad.
the best dish to bring is a deli platter
cheese, meat or veggie
every one scarfs them up and you have no work or clean up
just call the deli and ask for the size, mix and cost.
believe me the cost is worth it.
i would say make something in season such as baked chicken and potatoes. heres a recipe called "fall chicken"

Ingredients
4 bone in chicken breasts
2 to 3 fresh tomatoes, 1/8 wedges
3 to 4 potatoes, cut into chunks
2 onions, cut into chucks
1 green pepper, seeded and cut into chucks
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon rosemary
2 to 3 tablespoons olive oil
salt and pepper

Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Coat bottom of a large baking dish or roasting pan with oil; add potatoes, tomatoes, and onions and toss in the oil. Season vegetables with salt and pepper. Place chicken on top of the vegetables; sprinkle rosemary, thyme, salt and pepper over chicken. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and baste chicken and vegetables with juice. Continue baking until the chicken is done and the vegetables are golden brown, about another 15 or 20 minutes.

* After you have removed the foil, you may want to drain some of the juices so that the vegetables can roast.

* You may also add any other vegetables that would be good roasted.
