What's a good appetizer to take to a party this weekend?!

Question: 30-40 people?

Answers: 30-40 people?
You cannot , and I can't stress the word "cannot" enough,

You absolutley cannot go wrong with the everyday comon garden variety MEATBALL
http://allrecipes.com/Recipes/Appetizers...
if you are looking cheap try, mini-smoked sausage( smokies), and BBQ sauce, heat in a crock pot.
higher end try : use a shot to cut rings out of several types of bread, mix cream cheese with basil, pipe it onto the bread garnish with olives slice or something simular
Take sour pickles with you for their appetizer.
HOT BACON APPETIZERS

1/2 lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled
3/4 c. (6 oz.) shredded process American cheese
1/4 c. butter, softened
2 tsp. caraway seeds
50 melba toast rounds or a loaf of party rye bread

Combine first 4 ingredients, mixing well. Spread evenly on toast rounds or party rye. Place on baking sheet and broil 2 minutes or until cheese melts. Serve hot. Yield: 50 appetizers.
Everyone likes queso. Get a big thing of Velvetta. Add a can or two of Rotel. Melt the whole thing and you have a quick, inexpensive cheese dip. Just don't forget the tortilla chips.
Buffalo Chicken Dip

4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, boiled and shredded (I usually just buy a whole precooked chicken and take all the meat off/shredd)
1 - 12 oz bottle hot sauce (doesn't need to be buffalo sauce)
2 - 8 oz ackages of cream cheese
1 - 16 oz bottle Ranch dressing
1/2 cup chopped celery
8 oz Monterey Jack or Cheddar Cheese, grated

In a 9x13 pan, combine the chicken meat and entire bottle of hot sauce, spreading to make an even layer. In a saucepan, combine the cream cheese and ranch dressing over medium heat until smooth. Pour this mixture evenly over the chicken. Sprinkle with chopped celery and then the shredded cheese.
Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until bubbly (Watch out that the top doesn't get browned). Let stand for 10 minutes. Serve hot or warm with a sturdy chip, celery sticks, or bread.
chex mix
baked brie with fruit for dipping or a cheese and cracker tray
I would do shrimp cocktail. You can make it look really chic if you put sauce in a martini glass and plass shrimp around the glass. It's always a hit. or like someone said meatballs, if it's just a regular party.
Crabmeat Deviled Eggs

Makes 12 servings (2 deviled egg halves per person)

12 hard-boiled eggs, shelled and cut lengthwise in half

3 tbsp. mayonnaise
2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. freshly ground white pepper
1/4 tsp. hot sauce
1/2 lb. lump crabmeat, picked over for shells and cartilage

1 oz. caviar, such as beluga, osetra or sevruga (optional)

Remove the yolks from the whites and put in a medium-size mixing bowl, using the back of a fork, mash the yolks, then add the mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, white pepper, and hot sauce. Stir with the fork to mix. Add the crabmeat and stir gently to mix. Spoon equal amounts of the mixture into the egg-white halves. Chill the eggs for two hours before serving.

To serve, garnish with the caviar, fresh parsley or paprika.
I would go with some sort of spinach/artichoke dip. I don't have the exact recipe at the moment, but my favorite is a dip that consists of spinach, artichokes, cream cheese, mayo, lump crab meat, and parmesan cheese...it is baked with a sprinkle of paprika on the surface. Serve with chips, crackers, or even better, those little bagel bites.
Anytime I go to a party I always bring this beef dip with me. Everyone always love it and they always expect me to bring it!!

1 medium green pepper
1 medium red pepper
1 red onion
1 jar of dried beef (its the smaller jar not sure what size)
1 package of cream cheese
1 8 oz. container of sour cream

Dice the peppers, onion and shred the dried beef into smaller pieces. In a bowl blend the cream cheese and sour cream together and add the peppers, onion, and dried beef. Mix that all together and put it in a round baking bowl. Cover with foil. Bake in the oven at 350* until the top is a littlegolden brown.
those yummy BBQ Meatballs & you can just let them stay warm in a crok-pot!!!!
take a water chessnut and rap it in bacon then grill it its so good
