What small kitchen appliance do you appreciate most when you use it?!
Answers: I ask b/c I'm looking to upgrade some stuff in my kitchen and wonder what gadgets/appliances are best.
I use my crockpot at least once a week. I love walking in & having dinner ready to put on the table. I also use my toaster oven (a huge GE that holds 6 slices of toast or an 11x7 baking pan) regularly. I bake potatoes in it, as well as brownines. It's great at holiday time when you need room for 1 more casserole or pie. I also use my Magic Bullet on a regular basis (great for onions, garlic, ginger, milkshakes, fruit coulis, etc). Because my husband is an "As Seen on TV" addict, we also have a Sonic Blade knife. Great for carving chicken & roast, slicing bread, cutting melons & potatoes.
crock pot
Small table top rotisserie.
My Juicer and my Ice-Cream maker...two most used appliances in my kitchen.
Coffee grinder. Nothing like fresh-brewed coffee.
I would be lost without my can opener
My electric can opener and hand mixer!
kitchenaid mixer,
It's probably a tie between my food processor and my Kitchenaid Stand Mixer.
My Waring mini chopper/grinder. It's a fabulous tool when working with nuts, pesto, sun-dried tomatoes, etc. I wouldn't work in a kitchen without one.
toaster oven
Definatly my microwave!!!
my slow cooker, coffee maker and my breadmaker
Oh, my gosh! It's so hard to choose just one. Aside from the most common ones like toaster, can opener, crock pot, etc., I guess I would have to say my bread machine. Which leads me to mention my food slicer - slices bread perfectly.
My KitchenAid food processor.
a mini food processor.
I bought it to make baby food for my daughter but it is great for everyday meals, like chopping onion, garlic, etc.
Also, if you are updating, I would suggest buying a good microwave. I bought a cheap one and it is terrible, A good one is worth the investment.
Garlic press. Mushes up the garlic so you dont get big chuncks of it in the food and stops your hands stinking of it!!
I love my juicer and my Cuisinart food processors. I have a small one and a large one. They make cooking so easy. The juicer is a pain for cleanup, but it's great for your health. I have a nice blender but hardly ever use it (twice a year for margaritas) because my Cuisinart is so much more effective.
Another appliance I have found absolutely indisposable is an electric kettle with automatic shutoff. Go for the good ones and make sure it's cordless. They are great for making tea, hot cocoa, instant oats, and tons of other things.
If you bake a lot, I'd recommend a KitchenAid stand mixer.
Appliances I have found to be huge space takers and usually useless are:
*Breadmakers (it's not much harder to make your french loaves from scratch-but how often do you even make homeade bread, anyway?)
*Blenders-if you have a food processor, you don't need one. An immersion blender is nice though.
*Electric can opener
*Microwave oven (I wish I had a toaster oven above my stove instead)
*Coffee bean grinder. They are messy and wake up everybody in the house when I make my coffee. I just use the grinder at the store in the coffee isle instead.
*Popcorn popper.
My Kitchen Aid stand mixer. Hands down.
microwave ,black and decker food processor and toaster are the appliances which i use every day in my kitchen.
The Electric switch which turns on everything in my kitchen....
I just love my slow cooker. I cook so many different things in it. Stew and bbq'd ribs are my 2 favourite slow cooker foods but you can also do soups, chowders, spaghetti sauces and a host of other recipes. I love it because I can throw the ingredients together and do other things during the day and not have to worry about dinner being ruined.
crock pot
My Crockpots. Yes I have more than one. I have something cooking in at leist one at all times. In the winter, I have 2 going. Beans are a staple in my house. I always have some cooking. I use them for sweets to. YUMMY.
I've narrowed it down to two small appliances. My stand mixer and my food processor. Both save me heaps of time! I shudder to think of the "old" days when I had to mix cookie dough, candy centers, and cakes by hand, or slice a huge pile of onions for French onion soup, or grate a big bunch of cheese by hand!
But, I'd hate to be without my Crock Pot, too!
I have a small food processor called a oscar that i use almost everyday to chop up eggs, celery, meat, onions and all kind of things... i used to have a big one but my hubby broke the compartment where the chopped food goes in so i use this little one and enjoy it and doesnt take up too much counter space...
My electric can opener or my garlic press :)
My immersion blender! It's the best for soups, and you can use it for smoothies and it's way easier to clean than the blender.
