Looking for kid friendly meal ideas. Three girls with ages ranging 7 to 12. They're pretty easy to please.!
Answers: Anything but spaghetti. They say they eat that too often. And no burgers, they had that last night. Not too complicated, I have a class at night and would like to feed them something good and healthy before heading out.
after I got this down, I finished reading your question, this is still a cool project when mom has more time. You will enjoy too.

Cook over medium/medium-high heat until smooth. Remove beef from heat.
Starting with the prepared macaroni and cheese, layer beef mixture and macaroni. Make 2 layers of each.
Be sure that macaroni is covered well by the beef mixture and its' "juice" or it will dry out when cooking. Cook for about 25 minutes or until bubbly.

KID'S FAVORITE CHICKEN & RICE
6 chicken breasts (or dark meat, if your family prefers it)
2 boxes Rice-a-Roni (1/2 stick butter)
3 cans cream of chicken soup
2 c. milk
Kids seem to like this because it has no onions and no strong spices - a real "comfort" food. Rinse and skin the chicken, then boil. Drain and cool the chicken on a platter. Strain and reserve the broth. Clean all the meat off the bones and cut into 3/4 inch cubes, refrigerate until needed.
Prepare rice according to package directions, using the reheated broth. With a whisk, blend and heat the soup, adding the milk gradually. Add the chicken cubes and heat through. Serve the creamy chicken over the rice.

OK I know I got carried away but kids are fun and we really dont get to spend too much time with them before they are not wanting to do their own thing. I love cooking and bonding in the kitchen with my kids, my daughter just thinks I am the bomb best feeling ever. My mom does hair and cooks brownies with me lol, her favorite tale.
good luck, please feel free to email, my sister is pre k teacher assistant and we both love kids, i took several child care classes, but then went to cna with mentally handicapped adults. I used the same easy fun things with them helped out tremendously
kid cousine!
mac-n-cheese kids love it, chicken strips with fries, hotdogs.
Taco pizza. And not actual pizza, I'm talking about those round, flat shells layered with taco meat. You do a couple layers of those, and on the very top you can top it with regular taco toppings, like lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, ect.
Be warned: it is a little messy though!
My kids love this and you can make it up in advance.
Fry up some ground beef, remove the grease and add a packet of Taco Seasoning. Chop up some onion, tomatoes, avacado, shred some cheese, open a can of sliced black olives, put some tortilla chips, salsa and sour cream in some bowls. Put it all out on the table (no need to layer it...just throw it on there) and let them make their own nachos. They can put whatever they like (and leave off what they don't) and will have fun piling things on top of their chips.
Don't worry...Lawry's Taco seasoning isn't hot at all.
Have fun!
How about you make your own pizza? Or you could have a salad bar with lettuce with different veggies and dressings. And fruit for fruit salad. You could also make a quick soup with it too.
I was going to say fried ravioli, but then you metioned healthy lol.
you could put some soup in the crock pot before you leave in the morning and have soup and bread bowls (or just soup).
or, if you're the kind of person that doesn't mind eating breakfasty foods. here is a really fun, really quick idea. omelets in a bag. just have the kids crack a couple eggs into their own ziplock bag let them add their own cheese, ham, veggies, whatever they like in their omelets. after all the ingredients are added to the bag. let them smoosh and shake everything so its all mixed together. then add the bags to boiling water and let them cook. it only takes a few minutes (i'd say probably less then 10). when they are done pour the omelets out onto a plate (they slide right out) and viola! I like this because clean up is super easy. the kids have fun making their own little omelets. and whats healthier than eggs?
Why not pick up a rotisserie chicken and a few sides. Or you could just pick up the chicken and make a boxed rice mix and salad.
