What to do with pumpkin gunk? i want to make something out of the gunk not just the seeds please! :)?!

Question: I don't know about the gunk, other than putting it on your garden or flowers as food or in your compost pile.

But, I know that you can use the actual pumpkin. I grind mine up after boiling and make pies.

you can follow a pumpkin pie recipie for your spices, eggs, vanillia and evaporated milk.

  • The only thing I would use the gunk for would be the compost heap.

As far as 'pumpkin gunk' is concerned it's feasible that you (if you have livestock) could feed it to your herbivorous animals, but generally it's what gets thrown out after cleaning your pumpkin. The pumpkin itself (the orange flesh) can be cooked down into a puree and used to cook with. The seeds as you already know can be dried and eaten. But gunk? It's considered garbage..

...just toss out the gunk, okay? ^_^

My mom used to make spaghetti squash and mix in the steamed, buttery pumpkin junk... it was enough to taste pumkin, but not too much to be gross,,, people loved it and there is a lot of fiber, other than that I just compost it.

    VEEEERY intresting....
    why not
Pat dry with news paper and spread out on window screen to dry,, keep all that stringy stuff seperated..
Use as stuffing for easter baskets like that moss..
    Kindling fire starter...
I have NO idea what I am talking about...
    I KNOOOW nothing
