Should I continue to use a Wok even though some of the non-stick coating scratched off on its first use?!

Question: On its first use some of the non-stick coating scratched off while I was stir frying. Should I still use this wok or should I return or throw it away? I am more concerned about ingesting the non-stick coating when it scratches off while cooking in my food

Please do not use this wok any further--either it is not well made, it is defective, or you used a metal utensil and have scratched it irreparably. You really should only use wood, bamboo or heat resistant plastic utensils with non stick pans and woks.

I would take it back in case the finish is defective, tho. Why not invest in a good metal wok, season it well so the metal becomes naturally non stick?

i dont think u should use it

You shouldn't use it, but since you scratched it you can't take it back. You should never use metal utensils on a non-stick surface.

I would say not to take a chance

if you used metal utensils on it, then you should just throw it out and get a new one. but if you used wooden utensils and the coating came off, i would return it and get a different brand. you can get very sick from it.

.To return or not will depend on how you have used it ,properly used a new non stick utensil should not peel .I feel further use of the wok for cooking is out of question .not worth taking a risk.

If it came off during your 1st cooking than you used the wrong utensils to cook with it. It's an expensive lesson to learn. That's why they have instruction manuals with the cookware. Throw it out and READ first.
