Look for Alton Brown's Good Eats program and look for recipes for the show "3 Chips for Sister Marsha." He has three variations for chocolate chip cookies, I think one is The Crispy, one is the Puffy, and the other is The Chewy.
The Chewy ones are awesome.

I always use the one on the back of the toll house package...but i add vanilla pudding (dry mix )1 small package (helps to make cookies moist & softer) and my favorite nuts or the peanut m&m's....

A friend gave me her recipe for chocolate chip cookies about 15 years ago -- these are so good, and make A LOT.

1 c. butter, room temp
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 t. salt
1 t. vanilla
2 c. all purpose flour
1 t. baking powder
1 t. baking soda
2 cups dry quick cooking oats
2 c. corn flakes
2 c. mini chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts

Combine all ingredients in a very large mixing bowl, blending well. Drop by teaspoon onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Allow room between cookies, they will spread during baking. Bake 10 - 12 minutes at 375 degrees, or until light brown. Let cool on cookie sheet 1 minute before transferring to wire rack.
