If my ground beef smells like boiled rotten eggs, does that mean that it's gone bad?!

Question: I just bought it today. And I just opened it up. And the expiration date says Oct. 25. But it smells like woo! lol I got a big whiff of it. But I know meat stinks.

Probably it is good. If the expiration date is correct and the chances of it not being are scant.

Not to be gross but what you are probably smelling is blood. Ground meat smells when it is packaged if it is packaged directly after grinding..

It's bad, toss it.

yes it has.

To be on the safe side: trash it! Just go to the store and buy another pack. I'm telling you, $3 now will save you from going to the emergency room and coming out of pocket $300 then.

take it back and demand a fresh replacement....if you can smell it that strongly and it smells that bad...yes, it's bad.....never mind the expiration date as stores aren't always reliable, or honest....

if it smells like rotten eggs thats a bad sign. is it red or does it have some brown to it. brown is bad. you could try cooking it and check the texture and the smell.

It's bad. Maybe someone left it sitting out at the market, then just tossed it back into the cooler.

Throw it out, or wrap it up and return it to wherever you bought it.

If you can stand it, place it in a bag and return it to the store where you bought it. If not, save your receipt, throw it away, and try to get your money back some other time. You might want to make a mental note of where you bought this bad meat, and shop for your meats elsewhere -- just a suggestion.

do not eat the ground beef it is always better to throw it out when in doubt. why take a chance becoming sick

the only way to know for sure, is to cook it and eat it, and see if u end up getting sick or not. good luck...

i would assume so! ew i wouldnt eat anything that doesnt smell good neways
