Does anyone have a recipe for Apple butter that also has honey in it? My grandmother made it and I lost it.?!
10 c. peeled, chopped apples
2/3 c. honey
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. each cloves, nutmeg, lemon zest
Dash of salt
Put all ingredients in a crock pot. Cover pot and put on high for 1 1/2 hours, then turn dial to low. Stir well and cover again. Cook for 8 hours. By this time, the contents will have reduced to about 5 cups and thickened. You can leave it this way (thick with small soft chunks of apple), or put it in the food processor or blender to make smooth. Pour into jars and seal or into plastic containers and freeze.

Why on earth do you have to have that? No matter what receipe you try, it probably won't taste exactly the same.

3 cups apple cider
2 pounds apples - peeled, cored and chopped
1/3 cup honey

DIRECTIONS
In a large saucepan over medium heat, boil the cider 15 minutes.
Stir apples into the cider and reduce heat. Cover and simmer, stirring frequently. Cook 1 hour, or until the apples are tender.
