I split them, add butter and brown sugar and bake them.

TO PREPARE PUMPKIN

Cut pumpkin in half. Remove seeds and fiber. Place cut side down in a baking dish and add a little water. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Easy to scoop out and needs no mashing.

Um,Iv'e never cooked a pumpkin, but I have read something about them. You can cut it in half, get all the seeds out and roast it or cut the top off and get all seeds out, scoop some of the flesh out brush with oil or butter inside, bake till fork tender and serve a soup inside.
With squash you cut them open and seed them. When I make a butternut squash I cut it length wise and seed it. I put a Table spoon of brown sugar in the little hole where I took out the seeds and a little butter. Put both halves in a baking dish with a little water in the bottom. Bake @ 350 degrees until fork tender. My husband loves it.

squash dressing is good -- clean squash cube and boil till tender drain and set aside--- brown 1 lb of ground meat with chopped onion, garlic, salt, pepper, italian seasoning, till cooked , in large bowl put one package of stove top cornbread dressing, the squash, and the drained hambuger mixture and 1- 1 1/2 c shreaded cheese, one egg and just enough water to moisten.. put in an 8x8 baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 25-35 min or until golden brown

if you like spicy add tony's creole or red pepper to hambuger mixture or diced jalapenos to stuffing mixture

I love baked pumpkin and small one are tender and sweet cut off the stem cut it in half or quarters bake it at 350 in a shallow baking dish place a sheet of foil over the top so it doesn't dry out the pan is in the oven withe pumpkin in the pan now put about 1/2 a cup of water into the pan and cover the pumpkin with foil bake until tender about an hour . let it cool so its easy to handle and remove the flesh with spoon leaving the skin behind mix in butter or margarine a generous amount of brown sugar nutmeg cinnamon mash this thoroughly and heat slowly in a deep sauce pan that is heavy cast works I prefer a copper bottom its more even taste it a pinch of salt or more sugar may be all that is needed serve as part of your meal. this recipe works well for banana squash butternut squash and acorn squash its always well received even people who swear they hate squash enjoy
