Answers: Yes i think it is true, because microwave has rays and it gets human body ready to have cancer,or another disease. Also I read it in a scientific magazine.

I have heard that it is not healthy due to some rays inside microwavre vs to cooking on stove top.

Not anymore. Older microwaves (ones from the 80's) used to leak microwaves that were felt to be unhealthy. But todays microwaves are much, much safer.

I use the microwave a lot, but I have often wondered if they're going to say years from now that it's not safe. I also heard it can zap good nutrients and it's best to steam veggies on stove, but who knows. That suggestion could change tomorrow.

I don't know if it's dangerous, but I try to avoid it at all costs. I think I heard somewhere that when you microwave food it zaps out the nutrients.

I have nothing aganist the micro for reheating but I will NOT defrost meat in the micro. Nor do I use styrofoam.

well it used to be, that i know of.. and besides, why would hospital kitchens have such if it were really bad? i guess just like any other thing, too much of it would have an effect, but of course, thanks to technology, the risks have been lowered. however i know that reheating in microwavable plasticwares can cause cancer or something to that effect... our doctors recommend us to reheat in microwavable ceramics or stonewares...

Scientific research currently displayed on websites shows no conclusive evidence about the dangers of using microwave ovens to cook or reheat. There are many theories going around and I guess I wouldn't stick my head up close to a microwave oven which is on just in case.

The same rumours exist around the use of mobile phones.

It won't be until we are 6 foot under that scientific evidence proves or disproves whether cooking in a microwave is dangerous.

I basically was going to say what everyone else did. Hey, are u in North Carolina? I'am.where u located at? u seem to be nice person. You answered alot of my questions I noticed.

Unlikely. Ask yourself, where are the product recalls, where are the class action lawsuits? That's when you know for sure that there is a problem with microwave ovens.

The actual appliance isn't
very dangerous, it's how the
food is cooked.
there is a high frequency
current that is passed thru the
food and puts the food molecules into a frenzy. This
agitation makes the heat that
does the cooking.
To me, it is an unnatural
way of changing the food
molecules and I have no idea
how it has actually changed
the goodness of the food.
I want my food to stay the
same while its cooking.
