Got a better idea. This Salad is AWESOME.

Thai Salad

2 packages Ramen noodles – crushed – do not use seasoning packet
? cup sunflower seeds
? cup slivered almonds
? cup (I stick) butter/margarine
Sauté all above until golden, set aside to cool

Chop 1 head Napa cabbage
Chop 1 bunch green onions

Dressing: Mix together:
1 cup oil
1 cup sugar
? cup white vinegar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Combine all ingredients just before serving

Here is something you might like to try instead of the soup

PUERTO PENASCO'S SALAD

DRESSING:

1/4 c. plain white vinegar
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. light olive oil
2 tbsp. soy sauce

Boil ingredients together for about 5 minutes and cool.

MUNCHIES:

1/4 c. butter (it really tastes better with butter)
2 pkgs. chicken ramen soup noodles with out the seasoning pkg.
1 pkg. slivered almonds
2 tbsp. sesame seeds (or 1/2 tsp. of sesame oil)

Slowly brown all together stirring constantly crunch noodles before browning.

SALAD:

1 head Napa cabbage
1 bunch green onions
2 chicken ramen seasoning pkgs.

Shred napa cabbage by slicing cabbage diagonally. Chop entire bunch of green onions. Sprinkle both packages of ramen seasoning over salad.

Putting it all together:

1. Mix munchies and salad together.
2. Pour cooled dressing over salad and mix into the salad.

The dressing, munchies and salad can be prepared ahead of time and mixed together just before serving.

I like to eats it wit my possum and corn.

(spits chaw, drinks whiskey)

Sounds good but it's a leafy veg so you might want to add it late in the soup.

napa cabbage lets out lots of water after it cooks so it will ruin your soup. the vegetqable gets quite limpy and stringy too.

easy soup: chicken broth. heat. add soaked shitake mushrooms, a quarter piece of ginger, and napa cabbage chopped into 1 x 2 inch pieces.

this also works with instant oriental noodles.

meh...
it's better in stir-fry

I think that will be fine, but i don't think it will hold it's texture like regular cabbage does...I usually put it in stir fry
