What else can i put on the plate?!


Question: howdy fellow cooking lovers..making my favorate meat pie tonight
in the pie is the meat, peas, onions, garlic, some small potato for starch..
with the pie i'm making potato and carrot mash, with baby sweetcorn on the top..
normally i'd fill the plate up with petit pois but these are goin in the pie tonight..so i'm stumped as to what to fill up the plate with? any ideas please ...xxx

While you're baking the meat pie put some cherry tomatoes in a baking dish, coat them with some olive oil, salt and pepper, and put them in the oven until they start to burst. Great contrast in flavor with your other vegetables.

Sometimes you can make one thing and let it stand as a whole meal or you could add string beans, or Italian cut beans. Freshly cut tomatos are good if you like them.

Why dont you try macaroni & cheese as a side dish or a pasta salad.
They will give the plate some colour and it's always good as a treat

What you are making is sufficient, you don't need anything else unless it's garnish.

Canned pears or peaches

baked beans
mac and cheese
cole slaw

sounds like a very complete meal already.... but how about a nice green salad to go with?

Sliced tomatoes sounds like a winner.
You will have a very colorful meal and, as you know ,we eat with our eyes.
