Question: My daughter is allergic to milk, butter, etc. Can I feed her chicken noodle soup?

Answers: My daughter is allergic to milk, butter, etc. Can I feed her chicken noodle soup?

most pasta is basically water, flour, and semolina. if it's packaged (soup or noodles), it would be in the ingredients list. if somebody else is making it (restaurant, for example), ask

Your daughter is allergic , and you are asking strangers??Bless you.

Commercial thin or wide soup noodles in the US use only water and flour, no milk or oils. They are available with and without eggs added so check label. Yolk-Free is a good brand of eggless noodles.

Id be damn careful with this if I were you. If you daughter is truly allergic and not just lactose intolerant then you are talking about a potential life threatening situation. Some noodles are made with eggs and not defined as pasta (simple semolina and water). When they don't fall under the identity standard they could be made with anything. Food Scientists frequently use non-fat dry milk or whey as a filler because its high protein and cheap.
I just checked Campbell chicken noodle soup and its egg noodle type. I urge you to read the ingredient lines carefully and if there is any doubt, avoid it. You do not want to harm your daughter. You can also contact the manufacturer of processed foods they should be happy to answer your questions.

Both Campbell and Progresso brands chicken noodle soup are made with EGG noodles, so yes, there is dairy in those particular brands of soup. If your daughter is allergic to eggs, then stay away from both brands. Each brand may be different, so simply check the ingredients on the back of the can.
