Can I bake apple cobbler in cupcake pans?!
Has anyone done this? Anyone able to think ahead and tell me what will go wrong....or the best crust to use? lol. Thank you.
Answers: Im planning on forming the crust around the edges (and on top)...and cutting the apples a lot smaller so that they don't need as much time to cook (and of course cuz it'll be awkward having one cupcake filled with only 2 or 3 whole slices). I just want it to be cobbler....but EASILY served cobbler. My bf is taking it to work so Im trying to do something different. I was going to make them in the cupcake form (with the little paper cupcake holders around it) and then maybe decorate with fall leaves on top made from the crust.

Yes you can. Dice the apples rather than slicing. I have done this in cupcake pans using a Pillsbury pice crust & using the scraps for the topping (which I like to lightly brush with egg wash & sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. I think they bake for about 20 minutes (don't have the recipe handy as I am at work doing "research" :). Don't use liners as the crust won't brown properly.
I would think if you could make it big, you could make it little. But I would be scared that the cupcake papers wouldn't hold up. Why don't you make an "experimental" batch so you can see for yourself what could go wrong. Have a tasty treat at home for a day or so, and then you can prepare for sending it off with him to work! Hope everything works out!
sure and it sounds great
