It will turn out ok. It won't necessarily taste like a familiar chile but sometimes I like to use a bunch of different beans to see which taste good together and which don't. Can't say I have ever had a dud. I think the best advice I can give on making a good chile is to have fun with the ingredients. Back in the day, nobody made the same chili twice.

you can pretty much use any kind of bean and youll be fine.. but kidney beans make the best chili

I usually use a can of each.

Actually, I like using both beans in my chili. especially if I am making a huge pot.
