What to mix with Betty Crocker cake frosting?!

Question: I have the sour cream chocolate cake frosting... and it is WAY too sweet and thick. Is there anything I can mix with it to make it taste better?

There are a couple of things you can do. The first is simply to whip the canned frosting with an electric hand mixer. It will nearly double the volume of the frosting and make it go much further, make it lighter, less sweet, and also have fewer calories.

I've also read you can beat additional cream cheese into the frosting to cut the sweetness, but I've never personally tried this so I can't really vouch for how well it works.

Good luck!

Try adding a very small quantity of milk (1 teaspoon) to the frosting. Remeber just a little bit at a time, you can always add more, but you can't take it out if you add too much.

Cool whip?

it may be too sweet for you but, most people will just love the sc frosting! if the cake is only for you, just use a dash over the cake instead of the whole can.
