I'm making meat loaf, what are some side dishes i can pair it with to make it extra delicious!?!

Question: I think that it's a law that you have to have mashed potatoes with meat loaf - if it isn't, it probably shoud be!

A simple vegetable would be a great way to finish the meal - green beans, corn or carrots would all be good. You could even do something like sauteed grape tomatoes with shallots if you want to make something a little fancier.

Sounds like a good dinner!

Sounds like a good dinner!

ROASTED GARLIC MOZZARELLA MASHED
POTATOES

3 lbs yukon gold potatos
half and half
1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
5 cloves garlic
salt and pepper
1 egg

Peel potatoes, halve and boil for 25 min. Do not cut up into little pieces as you will make the mashed potatoes watery.
Coat garlic on skin with olive oil and bake at 350 for 15 min.

Set aside drain potatoes and add enough half and half while mashing to get the consistancy you want. Squeeze garlic out of skins into the mash, add egg and cheese, mix rapidly and add salt and pepper to taste. Good sea salt goes a long way for taste.

Serve promply, don't let it sit around as the cheese loses it's stringy effect.

Au gratin potatoes (just slice the potatoes into thin slices and bake with a variety of cheeses) or creamed spinach! Both good steakhouse sides

Cube up some potatoes. Put a little olive oil in a pan and spread them all around. Top with onion soup mix and bake. Awesome and easy!

Mashed potatoes, and corn, peas, or green beans!

How about garlic mashed potatoes with butter and chives.
It's been a favorite of mine but that roasted garlic mozzarella mashed potatoes sounds like a winner to me!

there are none. if the meatloaf is good than any side dish will be just that, a side dish. if the meat loaf is not good, the side dish will be eaten and the meatloaf will just loaf. side dishes do not make anything taste better. but if i were serving it, i would have mashed potato and green beans, with some apple sauce also. but thats just me!

Not sure about where you live, but in the South, it's a law to have mashed potatoes with meat loaf. Try some sauteed squash with caramelized onions.

my step mom makes this awesome meatloaf, it's sounds simple but it's so good!
make your meatloaf in a cake square or rectangle pan, cook it through. make mashed potatoes in the meantime. once meatloaf is done take tomato paste and spread a layer on top of the meat, top with mashed potatoes and then slices of american cheese and bake for a few more minutes! serve with some veggies and it's done! you'll love it!

any kind of potato or rice, but asparagus is a great veggie with Meatloaf. I did it last week. Use the fresh. So easy too.
Cut the bottoms off. Then rinse and place in a microwave dish. Add some lemon juice, butter( I used I can't believe it's not Butter light) minced garlic( I used the jar kind) salt, pepper. Microwave covered for 2 minutes. Remove, stir around a bit cook another 2 minutes and BAM,,,,yummy. I added a bit more lemon juice after that. Tastes just like the fancy restaurants make.

You can flatten the meatloaf(raw) and put brocolli and cheddar in the middle and roll it up.................sooooooooo gooooooooood
