How can I spruce up brown rice?!
Answers: As woman of the house, I feel a responsibility to provide my family with nutritious food. My hurdle comes at dinnertime, which usually consists of chicken, a veggie of some sort, and rice. Brown rice to be exact. It has more fiber than white. But I think it tastes so bland! How can I prepare brown rice that doesn't introduce a lot of extra calories, that tastes great?
Cook it with chicken broth, rosemay and throw a handful of dried cranberries in...its delicious!
throw in some diced carrots / red onions / spring onions / beef - think chinese, and maybe look up some of their recipes but instead of using oil just steam it..
Try veggies and seasonings.
Hot sauce is my cure for everything
garlic salt ( a little) vegatables such as broccoli, cauliflower, carrotts.
Instead of cooking it with water use chicken broth. There are different flavors, you may try the garlic chicken broth or plain.
It will add a lot of flavor to dull brown rice.

1 can Cambell's Beef Consomme
1 can Cambell's French Onion Soup

Microwave butter until melted in a covered medium size CorningWare or Pyrex dish.
Next, add both cans of soup and rice. Cover and cook for one hour at 350°F degrees.
Liquid will be asborbed and you'll need to stir before serving.
Excellent when served as a side dish, or if you need to bring a covered dish somewhere.
Cook it in low-sodium chicken broth. When done, as you serve it, sprinkle a bit of Mrs. Dash or Mrs. Dash Bold and Spicy on it.
