Good Recipe Ideas for kids?!
Answers: I often look after my cousins 7 kids ages 10, 8, 6, 5, , 18 1/2 months, 4 months and 4 months. They often complain of having the same thing for lunch's all the time - Sandwiches or chips, pies and sausage rolls. Does anyone have any good recipe's or good idea's to make there lunch's better? Preferably something that doesnt contain to much sugar to send them over the hill lol.
Your hands are definitely full if you have them all at the same time. I would prepare ahead of time or involve them inthe cooking process. How do you do it, lol Good luck

ramen noodles , there is a variety of flavors
beans and hot dogs
make some homemade chicken stirps by slicing chicken breasts into strips roll in buttermilk or egg and then in shake and bake or cracker crumbs the kids can help too place on a cookie sheet and bake in a 350 degree oven until chicken is done and then serve with ranch dressing or bbq sauce
make some baked fries too by slicing your potatoes and washing them drizzle with olive oil and season and bake until done in oven better than fried
ALL of these are great ideas, so I just want to add some comments.
1) kids LOVE to help in the kitchen, and they'll be more likely to eat what they helped make!
2) keep it delicious, nutritious, and cheap. One simple change is to simply get whole wheat or rice pasta.
3) Give a fresh veggie with lunch and fresh fruit as a pick-me-up snack. Add protein for energy. A terrific snack is Ants on a Log, which is just celery, peanut butter, and raisins.
4) I'm giving you a link that will give you loads of delicious, nutritious, and inexpensive recipes.
5) Kids' stomachs are smaller. Give them tiny portions and expect them hungry again soon. (Keep some extra around.)
You can make all kind of great things with flour tortillas.
Spread tortilla with... mayo OR ranch dressing OR cream cheese OR ???
Add veges... lettuce & tomatoes & cucumbers & sprouts & shredded carrots & purple onion & celery & ???
Then meat, cheese and the like... turkey and provolone... ham and cheese... tuna... hummus... bacon for a BLT wrap... PB&J... peanut butter and raisins are good with the shredded carrots... refried beans... you name it.
Roll and wrap whole in tin foil or plastic. OR cut into 1 inch rounds held closed with a toothpick and put cut side down in a tupperware for kiddie sushi. lol
Also how about a tupperware of "dip" like Mexican layered dip of refried beans, shredded cheese, and diced tomaotes with a bag of pita chips.
