APPLE TURNOVER
1 pastry sheet (cut into 4)
2 apples (Granny Smith is a good choice)
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
touch of milk
Cut pastry sheet into 4 pieces. Thinly slice the apples. Add sugar and cinnamon. Mix well.
Place a small portion into the center of each square and fold each of the 4 corners to close the squares.

Brush the edges with milk and press down with a fork to seal.

Sprinkle remaining apples on the top and cook in the oven at 400°F/200°C degrees until brown.

APPLE TURNOVERS

12 servings.

FILLING:

2 med. sized Granny Smith apples (12 oz.) peeled, cored and chopped (2 1/4 c.)
1 tsp. lemon juice
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
8 sheets phyllo pastry, thawed if frozen
Butter flavored vegetable cooking spray
Cinnamon sugar: 2 tsp. sugar mixed with 1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Mix all filling ingredients in a bowl. Place stacked sheets of phyllo dough on a flat surface and cut lengthwise in 3 (4 inch) wide strips. Cover to keep dough from drying out. Place 1 strip on work surface. Lightly coat with cooking spray. Top with 2nd strip. Mound 1 heaping tablespoon filling at one end about 1 inch from corner. Fold opposite corner at same end over filling forming a triangle. Continue folding wrap up the strip as a flag is folded to the end.
Can be made ahead and frozen on a cookie sheet. To bake fresh or frozen, preheat oven to 400 degrees, coat cookie sheet with cooking spray. Place turnovers seam side down. Spray with cooking spray. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Bake 15 to 17 minutes until golden brown.

Buy dough in the freezer section at the grocery store.

Take 1 granny smith or wabash apple slice in 1/2 inch slices. Baste with wesson cooking oil, lightly sprinkle salt and curry powder on both sides. Put in oven at 350 degrees (preheated oven) for 5 minutes then TURN them OVER and cook for an additional 3 hours. Viola! Bon Appetite.

Just get some puff pastry sheets from the grocery store,
and apple pie filling... cut the sheets in squares put a tablespoon of pie filling and fold over, press the edges with a fork bake on 350 for about 20 minutes or till golden color.. poke a few slits on top so they don't blow up lol
good luck and enjoy!

p.s I've also used crescent rolls to make these
Pepperidge Farms makes puff pastry sheets! and so does Athens Fillo

INGREDIENTS
2 tablespoons lemon juice
4 cups water
4 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and sliced
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon water
1 (17.25 ounce) package frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed

1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS
Combine the lemon and 4 cups water in a large bowl. Place the sliced apples in the water to keep them from browning.
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain water from apples, and place them into the hot skillet. Cook and stir for about 2 minutes. Add brown sugar, and cinnamon, and cook, stirring, for 2 more minutes. Stir together cornstarch and 1 tablespoon water. Pour into the skillet, and mix well. Cook for another minute, or until sauce has thickened. Remove from heat to cool slightly.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Unfold puff pastry sheets, and repair any cracks by pressing them back together. Trim each sheet into a square. Then cut each larger square into 4 smaller squares. Spoon apples onto the center of each squares. Fold over from corner to corner into a triangle shape, and press edges together to seal. Place turnovers on a baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch between them.
Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven, until turnovers are puffed and lightly browned. Cool completely before glazing.
To make the glaze, mix together the confectioners' sugar, milk and vanilla in a small bowl. Adjust the thickness by adding more sugar or milk if necessary. Drizzle glaze over the cooled turnovers.
