A pasta bar would be soooo much easier & cheaper. Keep the sauce seperate from the pasta. If you have chafing dishes that would be best, to keep it warm. if you don't, you don't have to buy expensive restaurant quality chafing dishes. If you have a Costco, or Sam's Club card, they might help.

Sam's has simple wire holders. You just insert a large disposable foil pan in the holder & fill with a little water. Then you put 2 smaller foil pans in the larger pans for your sauce & pasta. The pans should not float on the water, there should be a small gap. The holder has a place for 2 sterno cans that will heat from below the "water bath" pans keeping your food warm.

You should toss your pasta lightly with olive oil to keep it from sticking together in large sticky clumps. For salad, Roamine lettuce, sprinkle parmesan cheese, some croutons & bottled Ceasar dressing. Don't forget the garlic bread! French loaf or rolls. Cut in half (like a hot dog bun) Cream some butter with either minced garlic (or garlic powder if you want less work...works fine!) some parmesan cheese & some Italian seasoning. Mix together & spread on the bread. Doesn't need to be too thick. Place in the oven in the shelf that's 1 down from the top. I usually broil mine (leave door ajar)keeping an eye on it till the butter starts to sizzle & the edges brown & the tops start to. This gives you a softer chewier/crispy bread. (softly chewy on the bottom, crispy buttery on top)

Hope this helps! Happy Birthday..Have fun & good luck with your preparations!

Well in my opinion the pasta buffet would be a hell of alot easier to make as it can be done ina few cooking pots and requires no preperation on the plate and can be made in huge quanitys, simpliest way to do this is cook the pasta, cook a nice sauce, put the pasta in a bowl but the sauce in another and let people combine the two! simple. good luck and happy birthday!!!

Make a crock pot full of sauce. Keep on warm. Make your Pasta and keep warm in a chafing dish. Don't forget to mix the pasta with a little olive oil. Make garlic bread and a salad. ( have a creamy Italian and reg. Italian dressing.)

give the 10 points to yobo.... she is dead on right !

I agree with Monkat...give Yobo the points...she was very articulate and right on the money....

A huge dish of Chilli con carne, jacket potatoes, grated cheese and salads. Very cheap and easy!!
Happy Birthday.
