Boil chicken, adding salt to taste. When tender, pull chicken from the bone and return to the broth.
Pour flour into a bowl, leaving a hole in the middle. Add 1 egg and enough buttermilk to form a doughy consistency (similar to how you would make biscuits).
Sprinkle flour on cutting board. Pinch off part of the dough and roll into a thin sheet and cut into squares.
Drop one square at a time into broth. Continue this until all of the dough is used. Add salt and pepper to taste and simmer until tender.
Allow the dumplings to thicken the broth until it is a creamy consistency.

Let's see for hamburger you can make a hamburger just like you always would but then cook some rice & gravy. Make a bed of rise put your hamburger on it & smother it with gravy....I also sautee up some mushrooms when I make this & add them too. And for chicken: Take a your chicken breast put it in a roasting pan sprayed with pam, place the chicken in the center of the pan & all around it add cut up potatoes, carrots, & mushrooms. Cover with foil & bake for about 20 minutes @ 400 degrees & then for about another 10-15 minutes uncovered. There's 2.
baked chicken with rice and mushroom gravy, one of my favorites. preheat oven to 375 F degrees, twice as much water as rice in bottom of pan, add one can cambell's cream of mushroom soup, put one cut up chicken, skinned, on top. cover and cook until rice and chicken is done. add salt and pepper to taste. usually done in about an hour, depends on how thick the chicken and how much rice you cook. reheats well.
I dont' cook with hamburger, sorry
I learned this when I was 11 years old, and still make it at 40.
Take 3-4 split chicken breasts (bone-in), dip them in egg, then in crushed cracker crumbs. Place them breast side down in a baking dish, and put it into a 375 oven for 20 minutes.
Turn the chicken over, and cook another 20 minutes.
Turn the chicken a second time, pour in a can of cream of mushroom soup mixed with a can of milk, and pour into the baking dish around the chicken. Bake another 20 minutes.
That's it.
I like to substitute ranch dressing or prepared mustard instead of BBQ sauce, but it's all good.

Take lean ground meat and season it with salt and pepper, grill seasoning, garlic, onion powder...or whatever you want to your taste.
Make nice size hamburger patties 1/4-1/2 lb patties are nice, whatever you perfer.
Now take a slice of bacon and wrap around the pattie. Secure it with toothpicks on each side to make sure it stays in place.
Now take a large baking potatoe Per person eating...4people. ...4 large potatoes.
Chop the potato into bite size pieces.
Chop a large onion...I like using the purple onion for color
Now in large casserole dish place potatoes and onion on bottom of pan after spraying with non-stick spray. Then place your bacon wrapped patties on to the potatoes. Cover with foil and place in a preheated oven at 375 degrees for about
45 minutes. Make take a little longer or shorter. Depending on the way you want your meat....Rare takes a little less time.
