I asked a girl over for dinner, not thinking that I'd actually have to cook it..Any ideas what to make for her!
Baked Chicken Breast
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Put 2-3 Tablespoons of olive oil, the juice of a lemon and a sprinkling of salt and pepper into the bottom of a covered casserole dish. Add the boneless/skinless chicken breasts and smear them around so they're coated with the oil mixture. I usually add a few cloves of minced garlic, and a sprig or two of fresh rosemary, but for a date you might want to omit the garlic.
Cover and bake for about 1/2 hour. Check for doneness at about 25 minutes. Serve this with a baked potato (you can do twice stuffed potatoes with cheese ahead of time and just microwave to heat when the chicken is ready) and a green salad that you can make ahead.
Be sure to have something for dessert, personally, I'm a big sucker for pie, even if it's store bought.
Have fun!
Answers: Here ya go, hard to mess up so it's easy to keep control of when you are distracted by your date:

prepare something you have made before. using new recipes can be nerve wracking when you're trying to impress.
Save yourself the trouble. Order some good takeout and plate it up.
Pan fry two chicken breasts and four rashers of shortcut bacon. Top the chicken with the bacon, then sliced avocado and sliced cheese of your preference and place under the grill to melt.
For a sauce, heat a knob of butter and a clove of garlic until fragrant, then pour in 200ml of cream. Heat until it boils, then add sliced spring onions and chooped semi-dried tomatoes and a good splash of white wine and turn the heat down to simmer until the sauce is thickened.
Serve it over the chicken and green beens, carrots and potatoes (especially scalloped potatoes) go great with this dish.
Good luck!
Order in from a nice restaurant and transfer the food to your plates. Take all the hassle out and enjoy yourself.
make something easy like spaghetti and meatballs.

Lots of recipes.
Why don't you take her out to dinner? Then a movie? Unless you are a pretty good cook.
I agree with paintballer (above), with a bottle of red wine!
yeah, do the spagetti thing...
if you GOTTA be creative, then prepare the sauce home-made in advance. this allows you to take credit (well deserved) AND dump the thing if it goes wrong.
Final advice... COOK for yourself! The food is better EASILY than pre-made or restaurant (i have never been to a restaurant that cooks better than me, and I am only 'above-average')
men's health has some really good menus and tips.
yes, you could buy take-out and plate it but i guess it depends on your intentions. i think the general consensus is that girls find it hot when a guy cooks so imagine a girl walking into your place seeing you cook. and you can also have her taste test first before serving - that shows and awfully considerate side.
I agree that pasta would be the best choice- but no jarred sauces unless you are really good at jazzing them up. Try a local Italian deli or pasta shop that sells frozen sauce- a good bolognese ( meat sauce) or call a local italian restaurant and ask if you can get take out sauce. Make the spagetti at home, and serve with a good crusty loaf of bread, green salad with italian dressing, and red italian wine. Dont forget the candles!!!

seve with a salad and you have a nice dinenr for 2 hope you enjoy this is really easy and i have made it for myself and my bf hope you enjoy
Take chicken breast and roll it in seasoned bread crumbs, top with parmesan cheese. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes at about 350 degrees.
Take instant potatoes - boil the water and butter in the pan. Pour the instant spuds in a mixing bowl with garlic power, pepper, lots of your favorite shredded cheese. Slowly add in the boiling water mixture until your potatos are the consistancy that you want. (My boyfriend made these for me and they were delicious -- do not take instant at all).
Open a can of green beans. In a pan saute bacon bits with butter. Add the green beans, add black pepper and garlic.
This is a fool proof dinner !!!!!
