Oftentimes food is starting to go bad when it's beyond the expiration date. But sometimes it doesn't. If it's on the shelf and never been opened, and it's not more than a month or two beyond the expiration date, then it's probably fine. But if it's been opened and in the fridge, then it's possible it's starting to go bad. The thing is, unless there are obvious signs of deterioration, it's not always possible to really know unless you're willing to take a chance and taste it. Generally, I err on the side of safety (and taste) and just toss it.

you can if you want to get food poisoning.

(you can if you don't want to get food poisoning aswell)

just buy some more. it doesn't cost that much.

Sure you can.

The date doesn't mean that some magical event happens on that day and the product turns into poison. It simply means that the product is best if used by that date.

On some products such as fresh milk for example, it means that it shouldn't be sold after that date. But you still have time to consume it.

Just use good judgment. If it says "best if used by Oct 23, 2007" you should be still good. If it says "best if used by Oct 23, 1993 then I would suggest that you discard it.

Bon Apatite.

I would not suggest eating or drinking ANYTHING after the expiration date. The date is there for a reason!

yoy could, but i wouldnt. you cant tell if its bad by looks or smell pastor carney
