Bread maker machine?!
Answers: Today I saw a bargain...and bought my first bread making machine! I don′t want to end up like the rest of my family who appear to have put theirs in the loft! Any suggestions on good recipes or tips on using this ...."useful piece of equipment"...trying to convince my husband our life is now complete with one!!!!
I use the basic white bread recipe from here (makes a 2-lb. loaf; I use instant yeast instead of active dry):
just make sure to use bread making flour and new yeast and you will be just fine.
I use mine for the usual bread, but I also use it for pizza crusts. You can use a bread machine mix and set the machine on "dough", roll it out and put it on a greased pizza pan, top with sauce and bake. It's great and easy. One box will make a super thick crust or two thin crusts.
a bread maker machine always comes out in loaf shape bread. loaf not loft.
When I had one, I used it almost daily. I made dough for pizza, of course bread, and with it so hot and fresh, we ate though it like crazy!! You can also tell your hubby that it's got more wholesome ingredients and it's heaps cheaper than continually buying bread, PLUS, it's got better quality ingredients and won't spoil as fast as all the breads with preservatives. Enjoy, they're great fun!!
l have only one suggestion for using said machine dont bother they are crap.....TOP CHEF
i bought a bread machine about 5 years ago, and so far it hasn't been relegated to the loft... my mum bought me a really good bread machine recipe book - u might want to invest in getting one - that way u won't be limited to the few recipes that tend to be included in the instruction manual... :
'Bread Machine - how to prepare and bake the perfect loaf'... written by Jennie Shapter
the ISBN number for it is 1-84309-399-5
the info on the back says ' over 150 traditional and contemporary recipes from around the world, specifically made for use in your bread machine.
i've made bagels, fruit loaf, banana bread and all sorts of other things. if u plan on making the most of your machine, then a book would probably be the best way to go about it.
I use my machine when I don't feel like doing the kneading or if I'm in a hurry... much of the time, I simply put it on the dough cycle and let it knead it for me! Then take it out, shape it and let it rise!
The true miracle of bread machines is that you can wake up at 7 or 8 am having set the timer the night before, and have fresh cinnamon raisin bread waiting for you. Your husband will be a believer after you've had that once or twice.
Sorry, I had to GIVE mine away to get shut of it, all it did was "bump bump bump" for hours in the kitchen -(hence the nickname!)
I hated IT and the bread was horrible, always the same piece of crap came out of it. Even after buying good quality flour etc;
All it did for me, was to appreciate my local baker getting to work at 3 in the morning to bake beautiful bread and rolls for me every single day. No worries.
