Can I freeze cooked chicken then eat it later?!
Answers: I'm a beginner when it comes to eating in and cooking. I bought cooked chicken from the grocery store and i put it in the freezer. How long before i can't eat it anymore?
The rule on meats is that you can freeze them and cook them and then refreeze them. But you cannot freeze, thaw and then refreeze.
Once meat is thawed, it needs to be cooked before it can be refrozen.
To give you an idea if it's OK to eat cooked chicken after freezing it....look at a TV dinner with chicken in it.
BTW, if the chicken is in the freezer for over a month or so, check for freezer burn. Also, frozen cooked meat tends to hold up better if you are putting it in a stew or soup.
Oh yes. Just heat it back up.
Yes, of course you can, just make sure you freeze it in a timely manner. Then just thaw and heat and yummmmmm. Good luck and God bless!!
Yes. But I would eat it within a month to preserve freshness as much as possible
yes cooked chicken freeze
depends how air tight you wrap it but it should be good for a month or two without losing much flavor
Yes, you did right.
You can now do several things with your frozen chicken:
Put it in the microwave frozen and cook on high for a minute or two, keep testing with your finger to see if it is heated;
Thaw in the bottom of your fridge for several hours or over night and then make sandwiches out of it or another good chicken dinner.
Yes. wrap it properly to avoid freezer burns.
