Is it OK to season my new pots with vegetable oil?!

Question: as everyone else probably said only if they are cast iron otherwise there isn't any need cast iron is a porous material so using an oil will seal it up to help keep your food from sticking, however veg table oil isn't really a good option because its to thin use lard, bacon grease shortening something thicker and coat it thick don't forget to place a pan under neath to catch the drippings and not start a fire.
I have used them for over 15 years and love them remember not to let the pans air dry if they are cast iron put your stove on low heat and heat them dry to prevent rusting.
hope this helps

yes

Unless they are cast-iron, you shouldn't have to season them at all. If they are, yes you could use vegetable oil.

only if they are cast iron

Yeah if you mean using them for the first time .. Define seasoning them ?

there is no need to unless there are metal or cast iron.

Caste iron or teflon coated, yes ,that is fine . No need to on Stainless steel. But remember not on the underneath. you don't want that oil on your cooker.

Vegetable oil is fine, I've tried lard and bacon drippings to season my cast iron and steel pans, but it tends to burn off. I've had best of luck with vegetable oil and vegetable shortening.
