How come when I cook chicken at home, I always get sick the next day? I cook the crap out of it. I dont use?!

Question: the same utensils I prepare it with, that I eat it with. I use the George Foreman grill which all heats up to a bacteria killing temp. I dont get the same problem when I eat chicken out. Everytime I cook it at home though, blam! the next day is a rocky one. Is the store chicken different?

how old is your chicken? do you buy raw or IQF ? IQF is Individually Quick Frozen. this is usually the best way to buy chicken, it is frozen immediately after it is slaughtered, not bagged and then shipped for 2 to 3 days and then finally finding its way to your grocery store. do you thaw at room temp or in the fridge? you should always thaw in the refrigerator. how long after it is thawed until you cook it? you should cook it within 24 hours of it being thawed. or better yet cook it when it still is a little icy. as you can see there are many variables good luck hopfully somebodies suggestion will help.

You could cross contaminate on your countertop, in the sink...there is something that is doing it. I don't beleive it's the store chicken. I have never been sick by making chicken in my home.
Maybe your grill is defective.... try frying it on the stove or baking it in the oven...broiling it under the broiler...

Use different utensils to eat it than you used to cook it. There might be bacteria on them...

Try baking the chicken next time around & see if you still get sick. Make sure you're not cross contaminating the chicken via utensils or the cutting board if you use one.

you could have touched the meat with your hands than licked them or ate with them

- once something has touched the raw meat, wash it or put it aside into the sink to wash later if you dont need it right away

- if the raw meat has touched anything, ,you NEED to wash it before using it again

- defintely should use different utensils to eat it than the ones u used to cook it

:) hope it helpss..

Make sure your chicken gets to 180 degrees before consuming. Use a meat thermometer and don't stick it all the way through the chicken.

I find my Foreman doesn't cook quite evenly, the center of the grill is more hot than the edges. Try cooking the chicken on a HOT grill plate which fits right over your stove top burners.

Hope this helps.

you may be allergic to chicken any parts will do it my mom is allergic to the wings and nothing else on the bird!!!

No, the store chicken is not different. Maybe you are not being very careful with your cross contamination. Make sure you wash your hands and everything else after it touches the raw chicken. If that doesn't work I would just stick to eating chicken at restaurant.

maybe its bad chicken
