Add a little bit ground nutmeg to it - gives a wonderful taste and try it once with golden brown parched onions, or with mashed garlic, or prepare them with sour milk.

Try this one:
ZACH'S GARLIC MASHED POTATOES

2 lbs potatoes
2 cloves garlic
2 packets Ranch mix
3 green onions, stalk and all
1 cup sour cream
1/3 cup milk
8 oz of cheddar cheese, grated
olive oil
1/2 jar real bacon bits (or make your own)

Boil potatoes until soft; let cool. Cut into small chunks and add ingredients - except for the olive oil, bacon and 4 oz of cheese.
Mix and transfer to an oven-safe dish. Spray top with olive oil. Sprinkle with cheese and bacon pieces.
Bake at 450°F until top is slightly brown. Enjoy.

Cheese
Herbs
Chocolate chips lol

Chop some onions and maybe add some strong cheese

Hey, I like them that way! Some people add garlic. I don't like it that way though.

Some nice herbs, and a little paprika.

mix mustard into it with a drop of milk.

Mix some mustard into it. Its lovely.

Nutmeg goes well with mash. As does horseradish. You could also cook and mash some carrot and/or swede into it, or have you tried celeriac? Basically, just as with the carrot and swede, cook it and mash it in. Lidl sell celeriac at a very reasonable price.

I love mashed potato with sour cream and chives.
Sweet chili sauce mixed in is great too.
Try adding creamed corn.
I've also seen a recipe for barbercue ribs that is served with mashed potato with granny smith apples in it.

Add some spice?

grated cheese and onions chopped small mash it all together
put in oven to finish off,First thing i cooked at school 40 years ago cheese and potato pie yummy.

Try extra virgin olive oil instead of butter and chopped black olives. Toasted garlic is also fabulous.

Touch of garlic, mustard, and yes a little drop of LP

add some Naga Jolokia pepper

worlds hottest chilly-record holder

Mashed garlic, or red pepper flakes or Cayenne pepper.

Try adding fried onions.
could do fried mushrooms too, and chopped up fried bacon, peppers?
Herbs?
Cheese?
leeks.
there's always corned beef.
hope that helps x
mmmm enjoy xx

I like to add, instead of milk and butter, bottled Italian dressing. The seasoning is a nice kick and it goes with chicken and pork really well. I sometimes put a small onion in with the potatoes when I cook them and mash it in with milk and butter. It adds just a touch of onion flavor. You can also use sour cream instead of milk and butter. Use your imagination! Try using cream cheese when you mash for a rich taste!

I like the garlic taste personally, but for a different taste and texture, you can boil parsnips or turnips (depending on where you live) until they are soft and add them to your potatoes. Prepare your potatoes and add the parsnips or turnips, mash together with salt, pepper, half and half, real butter, cheese if you like, and add some dill weed. Add enough to your liking and I promise you, it's very good. The parsnips or turnips give a different texture and kick up the taste a bit, the dill is not to overpowering but after one bite, you'll want more.

Cut up some spring onions and some cheese and butter ,heat them in sauce made from cornflour, add to mash, it's the Irish way, we call it champ and it's lovely. Enjoy!!!!

add some fried onion (fried until dark brown) , it's called savoury mash . lovely.

I use the spices from "Schwartz".. Onion & Chive Mash or Garlic & Herb Mash.. But gratted chesse mixed in tastes great.

Enjoy

Maybe some sweet potato..

mashed in with it..

or swede or carrots..

tastes great!! :D:D

makes a great change ..

or maybe make a cheese sauce to pour over it..?

just some ideas =]

One that i have found to be a favourite at home is Lemon pepper and Premium Sour Cream. Easy to add and gives that little bit extra.

a bit of crushed garlic or garlic salt if you dont like garlic that much because its milder

cheese and onion. or corned beef.

Add chopped spring onions, yogurt instead of milk and a touch of nutmeg.

Garlic sauce,salt,pepper,butter,horse raddish sauce,salad cream! Its yum! Or u cud add diced salad,cucumbers,onions,tomatoes,jus fry em a bit 2get d raw taste out nt 2much tho,add butter,salt n peppa,salad cream. Yum.try it.

My family like mustard in theirs. Also I often use onion granuals [from any supermarket] just add to finished mash, and grated nutmeg and cheese is good.
Good luck

marscapone cheese is good...cayenne pepper...of course garlic...and don't forget a little salt.

onions, chives, bacon, corn, and cheese are common when making mashed potatoes... they're pretty yummy, too. You can also put whatever you think goes with mashed potatoes and make it your own.

Some parmisan cheese..it will make all the difference.
