George forman grill - help?!
Answers: i got a pretty close to new george foreman grill at a church sale last week - it works - the problem is there are no directions with it - can anyone help? how long do you leave the meat in there - does it pre-heat? any info would be helpful - thanks!
You could probably google it. We have one. You are supposed to leave the lid closed - plug it in and when the light goes off, it's time to start cooking. They are great BUT you can't control the temperature - it is the same all the time so it' easy to burn if you don't pay attention. Even with directions, it's kind of hit and miss but you should enjoy it -- we do.
You leave your meat in it as long as it takes till it is finished the way you like it. Just like any other grill. You have to check it while you are cooking. No preheating on it. Just throw your meat on and have fun. It is a great way to cook.
yes . preheat first if you want
how long; it depends on what your cooking
you can open and check the meat if you like
it depende but whwhtever kind of meet your cooking it should cook on both sides when it looks like its done its done.
If is a true Geore Forman, let it preheat for about 5 mins and keep your meat on until it runs clear. That is the way you know it is truly done; however a little less if you like it rare. It is a wonderful machine. It is the first machine that if asked I would do an infomercial on, lol. Enjoy.
You will find different cuts of meat will differ in cooking times and like all kinds of cooking it just takes practice to get to know it.
Check the web these are made by Sultan i cook bacon about 10 mnutes grill cheese sand weiches 2 minutes steaks experiment .
I have the same grill and meats depending on size vary but
burgers are 4 min cutlets are 6 to 8 mins depending on size
to get the directions try going to the George foreman grill web-site you should be able to get a copy. Good Luck
For easy clean up, spray with cooking spray first. Let it preheat about 3 minutes. There should be a tray to catch the drippings. I use mine for steaks and pork chops and grilled vegetables, so the cooking times vary. Just experiment first with cheap cuts of meat... make some hamburger patties. Keep the grill closed, and turn the meat once.
When you take the food off, dampen a paper towel and lay it . Close the lid. It will absorb much of the grease and make clean up so much easier
I am sure you could check to see if there is a website available, but just use common sense in cooking meat. Any cooking method has to yield the same results. You want the internal temperature of the meat to reach a certain point. Poultry is 190 degrees F. and beef is 170 degrees F. The best bet is a meat thermometer. The main point is to sear the meat so as to retain the juices and attain the internal temperature so you are consuming property cooked meats.
Squirrel said it best. sometimes, depending on the cut of meat a light spray of vegetable oil non-stick spray makes things much easier. Yes, great way to cook, enjoy !!!
I used to have one (I'll get another one when I have a few dollars) and I would pre-heat it for a few minutes. Watch out-it gets very hot very fast! Never clean it with scratchy products or use metal/sharp utensils with it either. I googled "George Foreman Grill Instructions" and found lots of information. Watch the meat and learn what works best. Different thickness of burgers will take different lengths of time for instance. Have fun! Ohh, just realized, there's several different models so I'd try to find the instructions for YOUR model!
